We LOVE Europe! Where have you been in EUROPE that you have found affordable?? Please let us know as we continue our quest to keep our slow and LONG TERM TRAVEL sustainable!! We are currently in ALBANIA, hoping we experience that same European vibe that we love, while at the same time enjoying a lower cost European destination!! Let us know your recommendations! Thanks!
Thank you so much for watching!! We are so glad you enjoyed it! Looks like we are following in your footsteps a bit as we just got to Albania! Cheers!🥂
Good find on the Airbnb….looks like a lovely place to spend a month! We found that groceries in Croatia were a little cheaper than Canada with fresh fruit and veg being reasonable but chicken/beef were expensive. I think spending a fair bit of time in Portugal spoiled us for wine and beer prices and Croatia’s prices were much higher. Really looking forward to your Albanian videos as we seem to have the same budget and taste in locations/travels. Cheers!
Thanks! We found that food is not cheap in Montenegro, but not expensive. Eating out was slightly cheaper if you were choosey. We hear you about Portugal! We are going to be heading back there as well in a few months. We will see if inflation has increased prices from last year! Thanks for watching and leaving us a nice comment! Cheers!
We found it very reasonable for the nice homey place that we stayed in. We are now in Albania!! Quite the overland adventure to get here, but really enjoying so far! Have you been? 🙂
Interested to know more about your VOIP for 2FA authentication while travelling. As fellow Canadian travellers we are also faced with that dilemma. Please explain the process. Thank you for your help and keep up the good work with your channel. Happy travels.
Thanks so much! We are using an app called TextNow. We are VERY happy with it as the banks don't seem to know it is VOIP and we can receive text and/or calls with our verification codes. We also could assign the number to WhatsApp, which you cannot do with foreign SIM cards or other VOIP numbers we have tried - and you know how invaluable WhatsApp is abroad. We may put together a video on it. It is definitely something that Mitch researched extensively to figure out and it has not failed us so far!!
@@mitchandjan Please do a video about this….I have so many questions!! I looked at the app and now have even more. Can you use your existing phone numbers? E-sims? Calling home? So many questions!!
Thank you so much! There are quite a few factors when we are planning our winter away, starting with weather! LOL. We also look at affordability, accessibility, accommodation availability, off-season/shoulder season and more factors. We have actually filmed a video to be released in the coming weeks on EXACTLY this topic that goes into greater depth. We hope you will consider subscribing to follow along and then you won't miss the upcoming video! Thanks for your question! Cheers!
hey there, Montenegro looks great! We are planning on going for the month of May. Would you recommend this Airbnb? I am trying to figure out the best location for us, any advice would be much appreciated.
Hey there! We are actually putting out a video this weekend on Where to Stay and Eat. So you should find this very helpful! But to answer your question: We would recommend this Airbnb DEPENDING on your situation. It is definitely a good way up a steep mountain. SO if you are renting a car, no problem or if you don't mind a good leg and cardio workout/don't have small kids - then yes. Otherwise, you may find it a bit much. This Airbnb is also about 3k away from Old Town. We loved this because we were there for a month and didn't want to be in the hustle and bustle of cruise and bus tours all of the time. Its quiet, there are restaurants and bakeries and SMALL markets nearby. We LOVED it, but we understand not for everyone. I can put a link in this weekend's video for it. Thanks for watching!! Cheers! 🥂
@@mitchandjan great, thank you. I look forward to seeing the next episode. I am looking at a place in Dobroto, I feel like it's to good to be true, dishwasher and clothes washer AND dryer. Yes, I am a spoiled American.
@@saralinquist9941 we loved Dubrota!! Highly recommend! We had dishwasher too. I am a country girl, so LOVE hanging clothes out to dry, especially with the quick dry fabrics we travel with, we don't have much need for a dryer, but that is excellent for you! Maybe just ask the host how far to Old Town (because it is nice to walk there and along the promenade where all of the cafe bars are, but also some really nice water front restaurants in Dubrota AND nicer beaches in our opinion. Also, maybe judging from your view, try to figure out how high up the mountainside you are (unless you will be renting a car) The hills are STEEP! Sounds like you may have found your place!
We are using TextNow (its an app), we pay weekly and it is working amazingly!! It has not failed us yet on getting our 2-step authentication AND we use it to text and call people in Canada who have android phones. It also works to call banks or Visa etc IF we were to have any issues. Its been much better than Skype that we used last year. May have to do a video on it :)

@ no. We have not ventured into that part of Europe. Vienna was our furthest east. I’m enjoying your vid’s.
